What are our current marketing efforts?

Hi everyone,

this is a question to the core marketing team just because I couldn’t find anything concise and specific regarding this matter. Information seems to be scattered across our telegram channels and numerous topics here on governance but it’s hard to piece it together.

Can we get an insight into what our marketing efforts are at the moment? I seem to have read a mention that GMX has reached out to a couple marketing agencies and have signed with some of them, is that the case? Can we get a glimpse into what the scope of their service is?

Also, is there any other marketing efforts apart from the aforementioned?

Cheers for the answer

actually there are lots of marketing in the background as we speak
first of all, there are multiple proposals, and in many of these threads, there are a few duplications, and we spoke to many of the ThreadStarters to combine into 1 single thread.

I think the biggest thread is the FlyWheel thread.

2nd of all, we do have marketing, but a lot of it is behind the scene, we have paid KOLs, we have done PPC, external marketing agencies etc
and we are in the midst of revamping referral community to pull in traders.

Quick overview:

  • Various smaller incentivised trading competitions to introduce specific audiences to GMX
  • Wallet-targeting campaigns to expose Perp traders to the new GMX Multichain and reactivate churned traders
  • PR/Press plans around upcoming launches
  • Trading contest together with Botanix
  • Building ties with Arbitrum Ambassadors and sponsoring local Arb events
  • Various activities around GMX-Solana
  • Tailored outreach to whale traders
  • And, most centrally, a large growth-focused marketing plan is being finalized that aims to drive value to Traders, while simultaneously helping GMX Stakers and strengthening the relationship between token <> protocol usage.

Sounds good! What I was wondering, the way I came to GMX was also due to loads of youtubers who showed me the wonders of GMX pools and real yield. I know the real yield narrative died a bit, but I recently the youtube content was mostly about the hack. This could deter people interested I believe. Is there a strategic plan driving the content out there and maybe influence the opinion on social media?

Definitely something we’re taking into account, yeah.

I feel like its very quiet on CT. Not much thought leadership from devs, no podcasts, postings, contributing to any meaningful communications. Very little traction on GMX posts. Just feels dead. Yes, we are building some cool products but we got to get the name out there and push a littler harder.
