Formation & Structure:

The GMX Listing Committee is a three-member committee elected by the DAO to oversee the listing of new assets on the GMX platform. The committee began its third term on November 1st, 2025, following the successful completion of its first iteration. The current term will conclude around April 31st, 2026.

Each member was allocated specific domains based on their individual expertise to ensure a thorough and efficient listing process aligned with GMX’s strategic priorities.

The term length for members of the committee was originally set at 6 months. Elections for the Listing Committee are held twice a year, with all three positions directly voted on by the DAO.

The committee is currently approaching the end of this third 6-month term. The Listing Committee is, therefore, inviting community members to nominate themselves as potential new candidates. If no new members are successfully elected by the DAO, the current Listing Committee members have indicated a willingness to continue their work for another term.

Nominations will be open from March 4th, 2026, to March 11th, 2026.

Season 3 Recap

It is worth noting that the committee faced technical limitations early in its mandate specifically, delays caused by waiting for underlying contracts to be updated before listings could proceed. This impacted the pace of execution in the first weeks of the term and is important context when evaluating the output over the full six months.

The third iteration of the Listing Committee has been active over the past six months, focusing on asset evaluation and efficient execution. Key work completed includes:

  • Asset Evaluation: Reviewed listing proposals with a focus on liquidity, volatility, trading interest, and alignment with GMX’s risk and oracle parameters.
  • Partner Coordination: Worked closely with Chainlink and Chaos Labs to ensure accurate oracle support, risk modeling, and smooth listing execution.
  • Listings Executed: Successfully listed 11 new assets on Arbitrum 4 are performing well, 1 is moderate, 3 are low, and 3 are essentially inactive. Roughly 36% of listings are generating meaningful volume, with XAUT being the standout performer at ~$1M/day.

Compensation

Each committee member receives an honorarium of $1,000/month in recognition of the time and effort required to fulfill their responsibilities effectively.

Key Responsibilities

For the benefit of new candidates, the Listing Committee’s core mandate includes:

  • Reviewing and assessing asset listing proposals based on market liquidity, volatility, trading interest, and alignment with GMX’s risk and oracle parameters
  • Collaborating with GMX contributors, Chainlink, Chaos Labs, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate oracle support and efficient listing execution
  • Managing and executing the full listing process for approved assets, ensuring alignment with GMX’s long-term strategic goals and trader demand

Members are expected to commit a minimum of 10 hours per week to fulfill these responsibilities effectively.

Proposal for Season 4 Extension

It is proposed that the Listing Committee’s term be extended by another six months, running from May to October 2026. All current members have expressed willingness to continue if re-elected, ensuring continuity in the event no new candidates are successfully elected.

The DAO is also invited to challenge any individual committee member or the committee as a whole if it believes a change is warranted. In the absence of any successful challenges or new candidates, the current committee will continue in its existing form.

Nomination Template

The nomination period will be open for approximately one weeks, starting on March 4th, and closing around March 11th, 2026. Following this, we will have a one-week Snapshot vote period to determine the composition of the Listing Committee.

The listing committee has done a good job over the last months. Altcoins have been challenging, with very limited interest from users to trade them, liquidity conditions poor, and lots of negative sentiment around them. It wasn’t easy to identify assets worth listings. But the XAUT/USD (Tether’s tokenized Gold) market has been a big success, and that RWA direction should remain a focus point for the upcoming committee as well.

Thank you for sharing this proposal. I hope to continue be able to serve for the betterment of the GMX protocol, traders, and LP making sure we are choosing the best assets to help drive volume and what traders want to trade.

I do believe the structure of this team can be limited to one person to help save the GMX dollars and coordination efforts. In any compacity I look forward to driving to help get traders what they want to trade while supporting LP’s.

Relevant Experience: I have had the honor of serving on the GMX Listing Committee for the season 1&2. This hands-on experience has given me a deep understanding of GMX’s listing workflows, risk parameters, and the coordination required with partners like Chaos Labs and Chainlink.

Beyond the committee, I am the co-founder of Tradao. While our public social media updates have been paused as we pivot toward new product directions to support the GMX ecosystem, our commitment to the protocol remains stronger than ever. To date, our referral efforts have successfully driven over $4 billion in trading volume to GMX, demonstrating our deep-rooted alignment with the protocol’s growth.

Furthermore, I bring years of professional trading experience in global equity markets (HK, US, and Mainland China). This dual expertise in Web3 operations and traditional finance allows me to identify high-potential assets that bridge the gap between DeFi and TradFi.

Familiarity with Perp listings: Over my previous two terms, I have been familiar with the end-to-end listing process on GMX. I am well-versed in:

  • Evaluating market liquidity, volatility profiles, and depth for both crypto and traditional assets.

  • Coordinating with Chaos Labs for risk modeling and Chainlink for oracle integration.

Suggestions for the GMX Listing Committee: Based on the Season 3 Recap and current market trends, I propose the following focus for Season 4:

  1. Strategic Shift to Traditional Assets (RWA/Commodities): As high-quality crypto-native projects become increasingly scarce, I believe now is the time for GMX to prioritize Stocks and Commodities. I have been a vocal advocate for this direction during my previous terms. Leveraging my deep experience in HK, US, and Mainland China markets, I will help GMX identify and list the most sought-after global assets (e.g., Gold, Oil, Major Indices) to capture a broader trader demographic and diversify protocol revenue.

  2. Performance Review for Inactive Assets: To address the “inactive” listings seen in Season 3, I suggest a “3-month Post-Listing Review” to evaluate asset performance and actively engage with relevant communities to reignite interest and trading volume.

Time Commitment: Yes, I can commit at least 10 hours per week.

For personal reasons, I decided to withdraw my nomination. I will still keep contributing to the GMX ecosystem. Hope the listing committee could bring more assets to the trader.
