This proposal seeks approval from the GMX community for Torque, an automation protocol, to develop a hands-free trading interface. This interface will allow users to control trading actions by navigating with one eye and clicking with a wink from the other. For context, Torque has already successfully integrated GM pools for liquidity provision.
Motivation
The largest and most sophisticated hedge funds and prop trading firms are already experimenting with alternative control systems. These tools support executing strategies with great efficiency, freeing traders from manual mouse and keyboard interaction. By implementing similar hands-free technology, GMX can attract a new audience of high-level traders while offering inclusive solutions for those with limited mobility.
Implementation
1. Research and Discovery Phase (1 month):
Gather input from potential users to determine key features.
Engage the GMX community to gauge interest and collect suggestions on the functionality of a hands-free interface.
2. Design and Prototyping (1 month):
Design a visual interface optimized for eye movement, with large clickable areas and efficient navigation.
Develop an initial prototype using off-the-shelf eye-tracking hardware and software. Allow winking to serve as the “click” function.
Test the prototype with a small group of GMX traders and gather feedback on the usability of hands-free trading.
3. Development and Integration (1 month):
Ensure full functionality with GMX smart contracts, allowing users to trade, manage leverage, and monitor positions using eye movements and winks for actions.
Perform testing to ensure trades initiated via hands-free control are accurate.
4. Testing and Iteration (1 month):
Conduct broader testing across different devices and user groups to refine the interface and eliminate any accessibility or technical issues.
5. Launch and Ongoing Maintenance:
Deploy the hands-free trading interface publicly for GMX users, ensuring there is full support for onboarding through tutorials and community workshops.
Continue to refine the interface based on feedback, keeping it updated as both hands-free technology and GMX evolve.

Conclusion
By adopting hands-free trading, similar to that being explored by the largest hedge funds and prop trading firms, GMX will lead the way in offering cutting-edge, user-focused solutions, attracting sophisticated traders and a more diverse user base.
Next Steps
Upon approval, Torque will begin the research phase and continue collaborating closely with the GMX community to ensure this hands-free interface is practical and user-friendly.
Hey Alik, last time you came after me for no reason and it was not appreciated. It seems you lack ability to do proper due diligence, so maybe it would be best to let the others complete it for you. Stop saying we have no working product please. We have been live since March and even supported Compound in distributing their incentives.
I am appreciative of your engagement here though. Please do let me know if you have any further questions and all our current work is open source: Torque · GitHub.
The interface targets sophisticated traders, such as those with hedge fund and prop trading experience. The value is clear: it drives new volume through GMX, generating fees for the DAO and LPs. Happy to redirect interface fees to the treasury or take none at all.
For fast-paced traders, executing trades using only eyes provides a competitive edge. This isn’t a novelty. It appeals to pro traders who depend on advanced tools to stay ahead.
Below is a rundown of the 3 eye-tracking systems to be supported:
There are far less devs than stakers around, especially ones with original ideas.
It’d be beneficial for us to show mutual respect. As a dev, we invest both time and resources to build these projects, which come with significant risks. I had hoped for more support here.
Before drafting this proposal, I consulted with a core member to gauge the community’s interest in alternative interfaces. The feedback I received was positive: “There is definitely appetite for supporting devs working on alternative interfaces”.
However, my experience engaging has led me to believe we’ll never receive fair consideration, especially given this treatment and how our grant app was ignored. With that in mind, I want to make it clear my future actions will be based on this understanding.
I wish the community all the best moving forward, regardless of where Torque’s path leads.
(Admin, feel free to lock this thread if you deem it necessary)
When a proposal has barely been live for a few quiet weekend days, it’s not appropriate to post something like this. Please don’t claim to speak for the whole GMX community, and try to show some more consideration when you engage in this forum. There’s plenty of room for criticism, but address the proposal’s substance when you do so.
yeah. i vote for no, because there are lots of tasks for gmx to handle.
but lets not dismiss any proposals with personal attacks or ideas that we dislike.
CMRN has his original thinking, and it is fair that we give it due consideration. You are free to vote no of course, but lets not make it personal
I am sure CMRN has good thinking for GMX community =)
The proposal added no workload to busy GMX contributors. Putting something through governance and then working inside the community for ongoing feedback is only proper process. You should dismiss proposals if you don’t like the idea.
The opportunity has passed, let us move on from here
